·         Contracted to Aurora Health Care. For the past 3 years I have played a key role as the Team Lead in the migration of 9000 users connecting to the mainframe via Novell SNA gateway connections. This migration will eliminate the 32 servers used for SNA connections and convert them to TCPIP connections thus using less hardware and providing better reliability. Installation of software necessary for Novell server then implement rollout to user so as not to affect staff or work in progress. Recovery procedures were necessary incase installation didn’t progress as planned.

Title:                 Senior Network Engineer

Job Duties:        Responsible for maintaining the network and Northstar PBX communication needs of E.H. Boeckh’s environment. Current environment consists of Novell 3.12 servers as our backbone operating system along with NT 4.0 servers doing application processing. Projects recently completed: T1 access to the Internet, rewiring and optimization of patch panel and wiring closet, expansion of existing building infrastructure, and migration from CCMail to MS Exchange 5.5. Projects currently in progress: Installation of VPN (Virtual Private Network to parent company in San Diego, Y2K testing and compliance, migration from Novell 3.12 to Novell 3.2 for short term Y2K compliance and then develop a migration plan to Novell 5.0 before year end. I am responsible for negotiating all equipment purchases, and system maintenance contracts, this generally amounts to an annual expenditure of approximately $300,000, assist with Quality Assurance testing of our company products, trouble shooting network problems and service internal system hardware.
